Legal
Terms and Conditions
Effective October 10, 2026
Important: Parole Ready is not a law firm and does not provide legal services or legal advice.
No parole result is promised. Please read these Terms carefully before using the service or placing an order.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you and Parole Ready. By creating an account, using the service, or checking the acceptance box and placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you use the service for another person, you confirm that you have authority and permission to provide their information and documents.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. If you do not agree, do not use or purchase the service.
2. Document preparation only — no legal services
Parole Ready is a self-help document preparation and administrative service. We are not a law firm, lawyer referral service, or legal services provider. We do not employ an attorney to represent you, and use of the service does not create an attorney-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, or confidential legal relationship.
We do not give legal advice, interpret laws, assess eligibility, recommend legal strategy, select legal forms for you, predict how a parole board will act, advocate before a board, or represent any person. Communications with us are not protected by attorney-client privilege. Information and prompts in the service are general administrative information, not a substitute for advice from a lawyer licensed in the relevant state. You should consult a qualified attorney about legal questions, deadlines, rights, remedies, appeals, or case-specific strategy.
3. What the service does
At your direction, the service collects information and materials you and your invited supporters provide; organizes those materials into a parole support packet; creates a preview; and, after required approval, arranges printing and mailing to the destination shown in the service. We do not independently investigate, verify, edit for legal sufficiency, or authenticate submitted information.
Government rules, addresses, practices, deadlines, and forms can change without notice. You are responsible for confirming current requirements and the correct destination with the applicable parole authority before approving a packet. We may refuse a request that appears to require legal judgment or a regulated service we are not authorized to provide.
Included administrative services
- Account creation, sign-in, saved packet information, and account-related notifications.
- State selection and administrative intake for inmate identity, identification number, facility, sentence details, parole eligibility date supplied by you, applicant contact details, and configured state-specific questions.
- An overview of packet sections, completion indicators, and date-based countdowns calculated from your entered eligibility date and the configured submission lead time; these are not legal deadline or eligibility determinations.
- Unlimited supporter entries, email invitations with private letter-submission links, supporter response tracking, and notifications when letters arrive.
- Collection of supporter-written letters describing their relationship and concrete housing, employment, practical, or emotional support; manual upload of existing support letters with the writer's name and relationship.
- Collection and upload of staff commendations and supporting materials with staff identifying details.
- User-directed entry of housing and employment plans and collection of plan confirmations through invitation links where available.
- Personal-statement entry and optional AI drafting or revision using information provided for the packet, subject to your review and correction; upload of handwritten statements as supported images or PDFs.
- Upload, organization, and inclusion of additional user-provided documents in supported formats.
- Administrative assembly of a cover page, entered information, statements, plans, letters, and supported attachments into a packet PDF; supporter contact information is included where provided. Available sections depend on the selected state's configured steps.
- One-time $249 print-and-mail purchase, or redemption of an eligible promotional coupon; after payment or redemption, access to the assembled PDF preview and the ability to make final changes before approval.
- Your approval of the final packet; when enabled, an additional administrative review by our team before final submission to the print-and-mail provider. This review is not attorney review, legal sufficiency review, or factual verification.
- Arrangement of printing and mailing to the configured parole-board address shown for your confirmation; vendor-reported printing and mailing status, periodic status checks, and delivery notifications when delivery is reported.
- Customer support for the account, document-preparation process, payment, and mailing; assistance with administrative corrections or uploads, not legal questions.
These are our service categories, not a promise that every optional step applies in every state. We do not offer a standalone digital-only purchase, SMS invitations, attorney review, legal representation, or a guarantee of release.
Legal services we do not provide in any jurisdiction
- Legal advice or strategy: interpreting statutes, applying case law to a criminal record, determining legal eligibility or enforceable deadlines, analyzing sentence credits, or advising about the legal consequences of parole conditions.
- Legal representation: acting as counsel of record or representing a person at release, revocation, clemency, administrative-review, or other proceedings; participating as legal counsel in victim-offender matters.
- Legal filings: preparing or filing legal briefs, habeas petitions, motions for sentence modification, court proceedings, or administrative or judicial challenges to a denial or revocation.
- Legal advocacy or negotiation: questioning or cross-examining witnesses, objecting to evidence, making legal arguments to a board, or negotiating conditions or legally binding terms with prosecutors, board members, victims, or institutional officers.
- Attorney-client privilege: creating an attorney-client relationship or privileged legal communications about uncharged conduct, disciplinary matters, or other sensitive facts. Ordinary privacy safeguards are not attorney-client privilege.
A licensed attorney may provide case-specific legal services within the attorney's license, authorization, and applicable procedures. People may retain self-representation rights, and some boards allow family members or other nonlawyers to speak. This comparison does not claim that every listed activity is exclusively reserved to attorneys, that counsel may attend every proceeding, or that every denial can be appealed.
Additional attorney services by state and jurisdiction
The following describes possible attorney engagements beyond our packet-preparation service. Availability depends on the sentence, case, governing law, hearing rules, and the attorney's authorization. References to objections, witness examination, negotiations, interviews, executive sessions, appeals, or reconsideration are subject to those limits; they are not promises of access or a remedy. Confirm your options with a lawyer licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.

Jurisdictions we currently do not serve
The following are excluded from our standard packet service under our current availability settings, principally because discretionary parole was replaced for many newer sentences. These are service-availability explanations, not a determination that nobody in a state can obtain parole. Older sentences and statutory exceptions may remain eligible; a local attorney or the parole authority can explain those cases. Exclusion here does not limit the legal services an attorney may offer.
Delaware
Delaware ended discretionary parole for offenses committed on or after June 30, 1990. Only offenses before that date can still be paroled.
Florida
Florida ended discretionary parole for offenses committed on or after October 1, 1983. Only older cases remain parole eligible.
Illinois
Illinois ended discretionary parole in 1978. Only people sentenced before then can be paroled; everyone else receives mandatory supervised release.
Indiana
Indiana replaced discretionary parole with fixed sentencing in 1977. Only people sentenced under the older law can be paroled.
Maine
Maine ended parole for offenses committed on or after May 1, 1976. Only a small number of older cases remain eligible.
Minnesota
Minnesota ended discretionary parole for offenses committed on or after May 1, 1980, replacing it with supervised release.
North Carolina
North Carolina ended parole for offenses committed on or after October 1, 1994, replacing it with post-release supervision.
Oregon
Oregon ended discretionary parole for offenses committed after November 1, 1989. The Board now mainly handles older cases and supervision conditions.
Virginia
Virginia ended discretionary parole for felonies committed on or after January 1, 1995. Only older offenses, geriatric release, and youthful offender cases remain eligible.
Washington
Washington ended discretionary parole for most crimes committed on or after July 1, 1984. Only pre-1984 offenses, certain sex offenses after September 2001, and people sentenced as adults for crimes committed as minors remain eligible.
Wisconsin
Wisconsin ended discretionary parole for offenses committed on or after December 31, 1999, replacing it with extended supervision.
4. No guarantee of outcome
The applicable parole board alone controls parole decisions. Parole Ready does not promise or guarantee acceptance, consideration, a hearing, a favorable vote, earlier release, delivery by a particular deadline, or any other result. A well-organized packet may still be rejected, disregarded, returned, delayed, lost, or have no effect.
Payment is for document preparation, printing, and mailing services—not for a particular legal or parole outcome. Dissatisfaction with a board decision does not create a right to a refund.
5. Your information and responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the truthfulness, completeness, accuracy, legality, and authenticity of every name, date, statement, letter, signature, image, and document submitted through your account. You must have all necessary permission to submit another person's personal information, correspondence, signature, or copyrighted material.
You must review every page of the final packet before approval. Your approval authorizes us and our providers to produce and mail that version. Do not upload false, misleading, forged, fraudulent, threatening, unlawful, privileged, confidential, or infringing material. We may suspend an account, remove material, or decline an order when reasonably necessary to protect a person, comply with law, or prevent misuse.
6. Accounts, supporters, and communications
You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for activity under it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. When you invite a supporter, you represent that you have a lawful reason to contact them and authorize us to send service-related invitations and reminders on your behalf.
You consent to receive transactional emails and in-app notices concerning your account, payment, packet, supporter responses, administrative review, mailing, and delivery. Carrier or internet charges may apply. You may not use the service for spam, harassment, impersonation, unauthorized solicitation, or unlawful surveillance.
7. Fees, coupons, cancellations, and refunds
Prices and included services are shown before purchase. Charges are one-time unless clearly stated otherwise. Taxes and third-party charges, if any, may be added at checkout. Coupon codes have no cash value, are limited to their stated use, may not be sold or transferred, and may be rejected when expired, previously redeemed, obtained improperly, or used contrary to their terms.
You may request cancellation before final mailing approval. Once a packet has entered printing or mailing, the order cannot ordinarily be canceled or changed. Except where law requires otherwise, fees are nonrefundable after the purchased preparation service has been delivered or printing has begun. If we cannot provide the purchased service, our responsibility is limited to re-performance or a refund of the amount paid for the affected service.
8. Third-party services and delivery
Payment processing, email, file storage, artificial-intelligence assistance, printing, postal handling, and tracking may be provided by independent third parties. Their availability and processing times are outside our control. Tracking events are estimates supplied by carriers or vendors and are not guarantees.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by a parole authority, postal carrier, printer, payment provider, incorrect address, incomplete information, force majeure event, internet outage, or other circumstance beyond our reasonable control. If a vendor reports a production error attributable to us, our remedy may be limited to reasonable correction and re-performance.
9. Artificial-intelligence assistance
Optional writing assistance may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable text. It does not provide legal advice and must not be treated as an authoritative source. You must review, correct, and approve generated text and remove anything that is untrue, invented, misleading, or not in the speaker's own voice.
10. Privacy and records
We process personal information to provide and secure the service, communicate about the packet, process payment, and meet legal obligations. Parole materials may contain highly sensitive information. Do not submit information that is unnecessary for the packet. Internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure.
You may delete your account through the account menu, subject to records we must retain for completed transactions, fraud prevention, disputes, legal obligations, or legitimate business purposes. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove encrypted backups or records held by independent providers.
11. Ownership and license
You retain ownership of material you submit. You grant Parole Ready and its providers a limited, nonexclusive license to host, copy, process, format, transmit, print, and mail that material solely to operate the service, comply with law, and resolve service issues. You represent that granting this license does not violate another person's rights.
The service, its branding, software, layout, prompts, and original content belong to Parole Ready or its licensors. You may use generated packet materials for the relevant personal parole matter, but may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, scrape, or commercially exploit the service.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” PAROLE READY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND LEGAL SUFFICIENCY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ACCEPTED BY ANY GOVERNMENT BODY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAROLE READY AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST OPPORTUNITIES, DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL; OR ANY PAROLE, SENTENCING, CUSTODY, OR RELEASE DECISION, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGE IS POSSIBLE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE ORDER GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Parole Ready and its owners, employees, contractors, and providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from material you submit, your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. This does not require indemnification for our own unlawful conduct where prohibited.
15. Disputes and governing law
Before filing a claim, you agree to send a written description of the dispute to info@getparoleready.com and allow 30 days for an informal resolution. These Terms are governed by Georgia law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent your home state's mandatory consumer law applies.
To the extent permitted by law, any court proceeding must be brought individually in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Georgia, and each party waives trial by jury and participation in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. Nothing here prevents either party from bringing an eligible individual claim in small-claims court or seeking urgent injunctive relief. Any limitation or waiver applies only to the extent enforceable in your jurisdiction.
16. Changes, suspension, and general terms
We may update these Terms prospectively. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes apply when presented to you or when you next use or purchase the service, as permitted by law. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service, but doing so does not eliminate obligations already owed for a completed purchase.
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining terms will continue. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. These Terms and any purchase disclosures are the entire agreement concerning the service and supersede prior discussions about it.
17. State-specific notices
The following notices supplement, and do not replace, the restrictions above. They do not establish that the service is licensed or permitted in a particular state.
Arizona
Arizona regulates legal document preparers through a court-administered certification program. A disclaimer does not replace any required certification. Parole Ready does not select legal forms, advise you about legal rights or strategies, or prepare documents that require legal judgment.
California
California regulates legal document assistants and may require county registration, a bond, identifying information in advertising, and a separate statutory contract before service. These Terms are not that statutory contract. Parole Ready is not an attorney and may not give legal advice or select legal forms for you.
Nevada
Nevada regulates document preparation services and may require registration, bonding, a signed pre-service disclosure, and a separate written contract. These Terms do not replace those documents. Parole Ready is not a Nevada attorney, communications are not protected by attorney-client privilege, and we do not provide legal advice or representation.
Texas
Texas requires a person who represents an inmate for compensation to be a Texas-licensed attorney registered with the parole division. The Texas parole board has specifically warned about paid parole-packet services and states that no particular packet format is required. Parole Ready does not represent an inmate or contact the board as a legal representative. Texas customers should consult a Texas-licensed attorney before purchasing any service beyond self-help administrative materials.
All other states
Document-preparer and unauthorized-practice rules vary. Our service remains limited to user-directed administrative preparation, organization, printing, and mailing. A website disclaimer cannot replace a required license, registration, bond, disclosure, or state-specific contract. We may refuse, limit, or refund a request when local law requires one.
